Toller Geneological Browser--a way to look up the pedigree of nearly any Toller

|
In brief, the reason we became interested in Tollers was because of their lower incidence
of health problems, and the fact that they are the perfect size! We hunt upland game, and had three Golden Retrievers with hip dysplasia. I remembered Tollers from showing dogs in Canada, and did some research. Although they are not without health problems, if you make sure the breeder does health checks, and is honest about where the health problems are in the pedigree of the pups, you should have no problem finding a healthy lifelong companion. Another consideration is temperament. Most Tollers are confident, friendly dogs with natural retrieving and hunting instincts. But when looking for a puppy, be sure the parents have the temperament you would like to live with. |
